I rode the dragon a week ago and, as Oogie mentioned earlier, the police were definately there. On the north end where it sweeps down to the lake, they had 3 cars and a radar set up. Probably because thats a place where you would be inclined to get on the gas after miles of slow and tight turns.
In any event - given the heavy traffic and cars and trucks- going much over the speed limit isn't advisable.
