Last night I was building saddle bag mounts for my trip around lake superior. When i was done fabing the mounts i looked up on the right side of the bike and found a light mist of oil all over the frame and the tank. Looking further, there was a pretty good wet spot on the tire, but not the rim. I looked everything over and did not find a leak on the engine. Yesterday an old goldwing parked pretty close to me. I am thinking that maybe he spit some oil out, or if there is a breather on the FZ, maybe that spit out some oil. I have been smelling a quick burst of burned oil at startup, but the oil level has remained constant. I washed it up real well and will take a ride before the trip this Sunday. This will be my first bike trip, and now this makes me a little nervous. I guess I will just wait to see how the next ride goes.
