Exhausting work!

Hi all,

I have just fitted a twobrothers system to my 2009 fz6, the bike runs smoothly and sounds great through the entire rev range. I have noticed that at tickover both tailpipes get hot equally - but if i go for a thrash through the countryside or down a motorway only one side stays hot the other cools right down as if it was not connected.
Is this anything to do with the layout of the pipes? Has anyone else noticed this? Do i need to start panicking?

Yes, it is the pipe design.

Its probably a function of the "Y" pipe. The warmer exhaust can is receiving more flow because it's easier for the exhaust to flow in a straight line. As long as your fittings aren't leaking, there shouldn't be any problems.

It's nothing to worry about, all TB cans do that on our bike. :thumbup:

I have scorpions and mine does the same thing. But, however, my left can gets warm, and I am under the impression that the right can gets warm on the TB's.

That's how my TB's work. The right can gets hotter during idle and then the left can gets hot after I push it.
