engine noise & tyres

Hi all i have a 2004 FZ6 with what i thought was rattling tapets at 15000 miles on the clock.
Turns out the cam chain adjusters broken.
Took it up to my local yamaha dealers £160 to fix it.
Had one of the new 023 tyres on the cack at the weekend, i have to say that in the first 100 miles i`m inpressed, or ist it all in my head.

Do you know if the spring inside itself broke, just bound up (not smooth) or lost tension, just curious...
