ecu ground wire

got a 2004 fz6 got a new gear indicator works but needs some

fine-tuning need to find a ground wire on the ECU all the black wires
are not a solid black color. can anyone help wire the ground wire on the ecu
the directions say the ground wire needs to be within the harness
got all the other wires right

There should be a solid black wire on the ECU plug. There are 4 black wires in that harness Black with blue tracer, Black with white tracer, Black with yellow tracer and A solid black wire.

Since that black wire is a ground or negative potential wire I would think it's okay to use any ground including an engine casing or frame for the ground.:)

Don't use that wire for the ground if you are not sure because you may damage the ECU or you the unit you are trying to install.
If the wire is to go to ground, use the negative battery lead, the engine case or the frame as a ground. It will work and you skirt around a costly lesson...:)

If the wire you need to hook to the black wire on the ECU just wire it to a known ground and don't take the chance a faded wire color code is the wrong wire on your ECU. Frame, engine or battery negative post!

There are a lot of guys online that don't have the correct information.

Just look at this! :eek: It's just so not right!

BLACK with brown dots did work for me got lucky took the bike for a nice ride
it works nice. one thing i will say you MUST SOLDER ALL THE WIRES i did try them crimp clips that will not work. so got out the old soldering gun and A -OK
but thank you for your time and have a merry x mas
