Ebay levers review (pictures)

Heres my pic, they actually look pretty good. I left the smaller bearing in it and the bikes shifts fine. Maybe if i decide to go buy a press later i will take it out and put in the oem one, but for now it works graet :rockon:

Received and installed

Well, I made it to the post office today and picked up my The2Wheels levers (standard length, silver color with black adjusters).

I then came home, proceeded to install the new levers, and I created a How To of the process.

But, since I actually created the How To on my personal FZ6 website, the forum just points to my page here:

Basically, the levers that I got had no bushing at all install on the clutch lever. I used a small socket to tap out the factory bushing and installed that in my new lever.

It's a shame that The2Wheels doesn't provide the correct bushing, or at least some documentation saying that you need to swap out the factory bushing....

Good idea i might do that with the 2wheels bushing. My stock one just fell out LOL, no need to do anything for it.
 
Lever length comparison

The longs seems to be about the same length of the stock levers, but shaped differently.

Attached is a picture of the two clutch levers next to each other, as shown in the tutorial on my website.

I'm quite happy with the long/normal length levers on my FZ6. As I mentioned, my hands are big and I use multiple fingers on the clutch and brake, so it was a no brainer.

I'd love to see a picture of the bushing that came with dean2287's clutch lever, since mine had none.

Yes, those are the shorty ones. I put the clutch lever a little further out so I can get 3 fingers on it which feels better. The brake is great with 2 fingers.

Mine came without a bushing, but no problem. The factory clutch bushing literally fell out and fit perfectly in the new lever (the brake side doesn't require a bushing). Be sure to clean it up and grease it lightly.

Took no time to install and so far the quality looks excellent. Plenty of adjustment for a custom fit. For $38.99 how can you go wrong?
 
They work well!

I hadn't been able to ride the FZ6 since installing the levers over a week ago, until today. Now that my back isn't killing me, I was able to ride to work.

Anyways, the new levers work really well. I like the shape of them and low and behold, the adjustable clutch lever seems to make it engage better, reducing the amount of clunk between shifts.

I bought the levers mainly for aesthetic reasons, but I'm pleasantly surprised to find out how functional they are.

Overall, I'm very happy with these levers, even if there were no instructions, and they didn't put a bushing in the clutch lever.

We've seen this come up before. Not an issue with levers made for our bikes. The issue in his case was that the aftermarket lever was partially engaging the brake and making the pads drag.. thereby generating lots of heat and expanding the fluid.. which eventually led to a lock-up.

Lots of us have been using these levers and no one has experienced any mechanical issues. The only complaint is that anodizing isn't that great and over time they will turn bronze (the more time your bike sits in the sun, the sooner it'll happen).
 
usually it is very easy to spot of the lever fits onto the bike too tight. Just install it, squeeze the brake lever and if it does not return to its "home" position then it is too tight. a light sanding of the contact points will take care of it usually. mine fit perfect though, i bought a set for our buell too.
 
Got mine in the mail yesterday. I am REALLY impressed with the quality for the price. Only downside is that both levers didn't come with any bushings at all. Have to pop the ones out of my current levers.
 
How long is it taking for you guys to receive these once you order them since it appears they are coming from Hong Kong??

Is there supposed to be a bushing in the brake lever?? WHoops lol, i need to take that off and check, because i have been using it fine without one.
 
There was no bushing in my OEM break lever, the hole was smaller in diameter than the clutch lever's.;)
I've put the OEM bushing in the new clutch lever, it still wiggles around a bit but it's OK guess since it shifts just fine.:thumbup:

I never thought to actually check the hole diameter. I haven't installed them yet, so I'm not sure. From reading what other people have written, it appears that the brake lever doesn't have one.
