dupont teflon lube for cables?

i bought that dupont teflon dry lube for my chain after reading the good reviews about it here. i have searched posts for lubing the cables and i see mixed reviews of using chain lube for cables. some say it's ok, some say its too gooey. the reason i am creating a new post is for the dupont lube specifically. i did a search and did not find anything. i am wondering if maybe those who say not to use chain lube for cables are thinking of perhaps the crap stuff like the liquid wrench chain lube i used to use that basically did nothing but make a huge mess and freak me out at stoplights because its slung off the chain and onto the exhaust pipe and is now creating smoke.

I use it for cables and pivot points. It seems to work fine, and doesn't seep out of the cable once the carrier solvent has evaporated.
