is there a thread on how to lube the throttle cable?

maybe look for clutch cable lubing......
1. buy a luber (cycle gear has them)
2. unhook throttle cable
3. lube
4. ride!

hmmm... the throttle cable doesn't unhook the same way as the clutch cable i think.

Oops, sorry dude, I got this thread confused with the other thread about cable lubrication. I'll move my post. But the answer is yes, the manual calls for lubing the throttle cables (yes there are two).

Yes true, but even your grandma can take it apart and lube it...
Just remove the two screws holding the throttle housing. It will split in half... Lube the cables as you prefer... I use a commercially available cable lubricant... I would grease the throttle assembly as well while your at it with white lithium grease... It's easy, so go do it son :spank:Norbert

I just did this!
Here are some tips:
1)Cut a hole in a plastic grocery bag and put the throttle cable through that. This should prevent any lube from going onto your bike.
2)Hold the cable luber in a rag or some paper towels to soak up the excess lube. Also put some paper towels on the other end of the cables to prevent the lube from running all down your bike.
3)The throttle cables have slits in the black insulation towards the end of the length of the cable. In hindsight, I should have taped these slits over to allow more lube to go through instead of spilling out and getting soaked up by the paper towel.
