I would like to see what just using the back brake would have done.
The distance on brakes would of been much longer and without ABS you would lock it up aswell, even faster then front wheel. Don't get me wrong but when emergancy braking (from 50-60km/h) on bike w/o ABS when you slam on brakes the back brake will lock up and there isn't much of skiding sideways, it follows the front wheel quite well (you can ballance your body but there isn't much movement to the sides) you have to watch your front wheel more carefully.
