I did not overstate the sale. Just saying, it would be quick a shock for that guy- if he ever intended to turn the slip in which he might never.

It'd be just as easy to threaten that you'll report it stolen though

The sales price isn't written on the title itself when you sign the title over?

I only dated and signed the slip. The rest was completely blank when I left.

Anyways, I did file the Notice of Release of Liability the best I could which should work out.

Just read this whole thing. I received a renewal notice for a vehicle I sold to a cash paying "shady character". I have a bill of sale with the basic transaction but the person never registered the vehicle in their name.... They cried about paying the asking price so many times I told them to leave. Seriously I repeated "NO I will not accept that amount" nothing less than a dozen times. So to some extent I'm not shocked that we are here now.

Same issue - should a crime come into play I know who's door they'll be knocking on.

That was just about 2 years ago now... errrr......
