Clutch Slave Levers - I'm making them again

Sorry QwickFlick, I haven't been feeling very well for the last couple days, so I haven't been able to finish the core I have. I should have it done tonight and shipped off tomorrow. I'll update the first post and send the core refund for spideyrex tonight.

I have enough levers left to make 4 more, so if anyone else wants one, you had better hurry up and get in line!

(on a related note, I'm only going to need 5 more cores to make this happen. I have one person waiting in line and has a reserved lever, but just needs a core.)

fordfanmatt and quickflick, yours are shipping off tomorrow.

GearIsGood, I figured out a way to get your lever off sooner, I'm going to let you have the one I made for my brother's bike, give him my old one (since my bike is down for another week or so) and I'll just make myself a lever from one of the cores. I'm shipping yours off tomorrow.

I would like to get one of these what is the turn around time? I also would like to know how they are made, the reason I ask is a friend of mine is pretty good at fabrication and I might be able to get him to do it for me. I would obviously still send you money for the plans and have no hopes of making and selling them just want to get Thos done as soon as I can is all.

If I send all my stuff to you how long till I would get it back if I have to go that route?

This is what I do:
Drill out the rivet on the stock lever and remove the piece that holds the cable ferrule.
Cut the arm off of the stock lever and grind the female splined piece smooth.
Sandblast the splined part to get it ready for welding.
I had a CNC waterjet cut out the individual levers from a CAD drawing I made.
I bend the levers in my vise slightly to put the cable's angle at the factory level. I made a jig to hold the parts in place all lined up for welding.
I TIG weld the levers to the female splined shaft on both sides of the lever arm to make it strong and prevent corrosion.
I then weld a piece of tubing to the cable holder to make the cable pull straighter. The tube is welded completely around here too to prevent corrosion.
I clean up the parts if necessary and sandblast them again to make sure the powder coat sticks.
Then the parts are powder coated and reassembled with stainless hardware.

It is pretty simple stuff, but with all the tooling changes and fiddly stuff I have to do, it does take a little time. It would be a lot easier if I made 25 all at once, but since I can't do that with the parts supply situation, I have to basically fabricate them one at a time.

I sent you a PM asking some questions. Basically just wondering if I sent you new parts, and then sent you what's on my bike after I got your modified one, would I get $20 off for both? And if that's okay, I wanted to know what PN's you needed if you had it readily available.

I can't have my bike down on weekdays cause I ride it to work and it sounds like cores are taking awhile.

If you purchased new parts and send them to me, I'd mod them and send them back to you. When you send me the used parts off your bike, I refund $20. So basically, you pay about $20 to get the parts from whoever (partshark, mrcycles, ron ayers, whoever) and send them to me, pay $50 for the modification, then when you send me your bike's parts I'll refund $20 to you.

Part numbers are 5VX-15441-00-00 and 5VX-16340-00-00 from what I've read in this thread.

What is your paypal? I would like to send you money to be in line for next available!

Will send core in after receipt of parts!

737driver - I ran out of shielding gas tonight so I'll have to finish up your lever tomorrow night. It will be shipped out Friday morning.

push lever assembly is on back order. I may pull the one off my bike and send it or do you have one you can use and keep the one when it gets shipped.

Well there is one lever left for this run guys. If I generate enough interest again, I might do another smaller run.

The first person to post in this thread saying they want it and then paypals me the money gets it!

Also, I still need some cores guys. I already sacrificed the one off my bike to get another lever shipped fast, so I can't ride now until I get a couple cores in. Step up, people!

They sell rubber boots for RC cars. They cover the axle.
Here is an example:

DYN7687 Dynamite Replacement Boots: CV-Shafts, Black (4): TMX

It may be easier/cheaper to order these. I'm not sure about the size. Maybe visit your local hobby shop.....

did anyone order these??? cuz i cant find them anywhere online i might have to take trip to the stealership...i need new windshield bolts anyways cuz they SUCK!!:spank:

Well, I want it, and I was going to order new parts and send you my core once I got the parts in, but... We're still waiting on that tax refund. It was supposed to be here friday, now it sounds like some BS is going on and it might be months before we get it. IRS says they sent it, my bank says they didn't. Grr.

So if someone else steps up, I won't cry too much. I can adjust my new levers from "lightswitch" to "OMG, does this friction zone ever end?"
