My Honda chain lube (really like as it dries clean-not oily) says on the can to use contact/brake cleaner or other o ring safe cleaner to clean chain before applying their chain lube.

I went to that site; I can't find this product anywhere in U.S. Dealer locater doesn't work for US locations. Waaah!

I used brake cleaner the first time I cleaned it. I have been using brake cleaner for my auto brakes for years. The disc brake assembly had rubber pistons. I have yet to have one of them fail.
