Hey guys I just picked up my black '08 FZ6 on Monday and already put 300 miles on it. Well anyways, let me get to the point of this thread. Every time I put the center stand or kickstand down on gravel or concrete, I can hear and see the paint and metal being scratched and I know rust will eventually start. My plan is to get some rubberized bed liner material and paint the feet of the center stand and kickstand. Has anyone tried this?

not a bad idea if you can get it to stick good. lots of prep.

Ok, I guess I am going to go and pick up a quart of bed liner and give it a try. I think a quart is the smallest quantity I can buy with bed liner material. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

You might have to keep applying it every now and then... I look at it this way... Considering the guage of steel they are constructed of, your kickstand(s) will probably be the last thing that falls apart due to old age...:)

Every time you use the kickstand or centerstand, you'll scrape off the existing rust. It'll last a long time, no worries.
