Can you add warranty after expiration?

Soon to be an owner (hopefully). Is it possible to add a warranty to a USED FZ6 (07 or 08)? If so, that'll make me feel better about a cheaper, low miles 2007 used bike vs a zero mile, 2008 more expensive left over.

Dlr says for about $140 you can add an add'l yr to a NEW bike as long as it's done before the orig warranty runs out.

it all depends on the dealer, i added a warranty to my previous bike and it was used, but it was a dealer warranty, not the Y.E.S.


Same thing, same price, just i had to use that dealership to do any warranty work, not a problem because it was my prefered dealer back then.

No warranty on the FZ though since i never used it on any other bikes...

I found a used 08 FZ6 at a dealership, and they wanted $480 for an additional 12 month warranty (which would give me 14 months total, as there were 2 months still left on the bike's 12 mon one). I found a new (leftover) 08 for only $100 more, plus no additional cost for warranty. I would do some research on it before buying a used one, it may cost more in the long run, plus you don't know if it was owned by a squid. :spank::squid:

I bought my 05 with 1800 miles in 07 and did purchase the YES warranty for $399. Not alot of money for some piece of mind
