can an aftermarket speedo be fited to 08 FZ6?

Just wondering if the 07-09 models can ge fitted with an aftermarket speedometer?

I know it has been done with the 04-06, but my concern is the 07-09 have the ani theft system which locks the ignition to the speedo etc, can this be disabled so an aftermarket gauge can be fitted?

I'm thinking of putting one of these Acewell meters onto match the (mostly) black on my bike and fit better with the MT-03 headlight

I put a $9.00 Schwinn bycycle "computer"/speedometer on my dual sport bike and it works lol so this one may as well. Mine uses a little magnet on the wheel but it is accurate according to my gps lol.

I know the aftermarket speedo will work, but will the 08 FZ6 run without the OEM speedo connected, or will the anti-theft system stop it from running?
