As some of you may have read, i am in the first stages of planning a trip to New Zealand.

Now i am trying to figure out some stuff so i turn to you (since NZ doesn't have it's own forumsection i hope this is where all the "cool kids" hang out

What are the stages of buying a bike in NZ: What papers are a must, where do i need to be for insurance, enlisting. how do i get a plate etc...
How long do these procedures take, and what do they tend to cost.
Since it's "the other side of the world" parts of these procedure may differ from enlisting one in europe (i don't know if this is the case...). So feel free to treat me as if i were ignorant in every way
