Thank y'all for the warm welcome! I'll check out that photo contest.
I had an SV650 once, but I like the smoothness of the FZ6 better - and I feel that the '07, at least, has a better suspension than the SV650.
His SV1000 is a different beast, of course, and he's making it even more of a beast with a GSX-R1000 suspension.
We like our bikes so much, we got married on them.
How cool is that? My wife rides, but she'd never go for that at the wedding

Kaz has it right, it is to make space for luggage.
Go to the post in this thread quoting Roadstergal, click on the arrow next to her name and look at the other pics of her bike in that thread.
