Bolt dimension?

Thx again. I used to work as a mechanic fixing pumps, and I've seen a lot of stuck bolts in aluminum parts. That's the reason I am hesitant to try and fix this myself, because I know how wrong it can go...

I am Norwegian, so I am not sure what an "easy out" is. I'm guessing it's the kind of tool where you first drill a hole in the bolt and then screw the tool in counter clockwise to release the bolt?

Anyway, i'll probably leave it to the yamaha dealer workshop to avoid me doing more damage to it.

IMHO, if there's an automotive machine shop available, I'd go there before Yamaha as the machine shop specializes in that sort of repair. Yamaha might possibly send it out for the repair anyway.

Should you go to a dealership, you want to try to get assurances from the service manager they can handle the job, have done it before so, it's not more messed up after they work on on it...

I don't think there are any automotive mechanical shops in my area, but there probably are some good general mechanical workshops. I'll do some asking around and see if anyone are confident that they can do it.

Just typical my luck to turn a simple bolt on conversion into a costly repair.

The bike is in the workshop now. They told me they can do it without changing any parts, but they have to take the engine down from the frame, estimated to 5-6 hours work. So we'll see how it goes. I should get it back on friday.

Got the bike back yesterday. They managed to get the broken bolt out quite easily. I had them do the 20k service at the same time.

I also put on the powerbronze fairings yesterday. That eas a pain in the ass, bacause the fit was quite bad, but I think the end result is quite good.

Turned out to be expensive fairings though...
