BMW Lo Rider Concept Unveiled at EICMA

Kinda of a cool idea.
But I'm really wonder what is a "Jet Helmet"???
"This includes classic leather jackets, protector jeans, boots, gloves and authentic jet and integral helmets. This ensures that not only the appearance of the Lo Rider is perfect but that the rider has just the right look, too."
Because you know, it the clothing isn't right the whole thing is so wrong.

that is a cool looking bike, the exhaust looks scary though...

Hmm...what an interesting concept. Single seat, swingarm sticking way out back, aggressive exhaust, low slung headlights. I wonder where we've seen a BMW like that before.

BMW are reknown for touring bikes so where do you put your gear on this bike?
I also wonder how long that chunk of engine underneath it would last.
For a company who make really decent bikes I think this is way below their normal standard.

IMHO, BMW hasn't made a decent bike for a while now.
Used to be, you'd buy a BMW and pay extra for it because you knew it would last forever and could be fixed anywhere with anything should it have a problem.
These days, you cannot work on them yourself without thousands of dollars worth of special tools. And they're full of problems. Ever since the oilheads came out, the final drives have been a problem. More than a decade later, BMW still has final drives that fall apart. They just can't get them right.
The newest bikes have an RFID key. When the unit fails (this happens often) the only solution is to haul it to a BMW dealer and have them replace the entire EFI computer, to the tune of several thousand dollars.
BMW has a long history of pretending that problems don't exist.
They used to make good touring bikes. These days, they make overpriced bikes that lack the reliability of the average Jap Crap. It was that change in their quality which made me buy a Yamaha as my next bike.

Oh I disagree Steve. I think BMW is FINALLY beginning to come out of their Teuton shell. They have made the most boring bikes for so long and beginning with the new Enduro bike, the HP2 series, that is finally beginning to change. Heck they even have a new inline 4, with chain drive and a normal fork for the track, and, SHAZAAM! It's at a resonable price for a race bike. I think this new concept will help them break out of the sterotype of boring bikes. I do like the R1200RS and looked at buying one; clip-ons too low.
I really like the artist's drawing of the white bike. To me it has that 50's BMW racer look, a bit of American Rat Bike, and a good dose of bad ass thrown in.
