Same thing happened to me, but I was going at the most 55mph. I bought my bike used, and I was coming back from the tag place (third day of owning the bike), I heard a flopping noise, and the back end felt funny. I was not that familiar with the bike, so I had no clue what was going on. I pulled over, and the tire looked fine so off I went. However, when I went around a slow corner, the bike felt like the back end wanted to step out on me, so I pulled over again and took a look. Looked the same, so I bounced up and down on the bike, and that is when I was able to tell that the tire was almost completely down. I was less than a mile from my house, so I creeped the rest of the way, and the hole in mine was about the same size. I was very surprised how strong that tire was flat.

I blew out my rear tire two weeks ago. Doing about 40mph in town, and rounded a corner while it started going down. I felt the rear starting to get sluggish and the sound it made caught my attention. 3" construction screw deflated it pretty fast, but it handled well and I never came close to losing control. Very proud of the bike for that. Unfortunately, the screw ground a nice little nibble in my rim too. Ouch! I hope that's the last time that happens!

I had a flat tire on my FZ6 last Thursday. I didn't know I had a flat tire until I took a left turn at an intersection. When I leaned a bit it felt like I had hit some oil in the road. When I pulled over I check the tire for oil and didn't find any, so I continued riding. About a half mile from home I just had a funny feeling about my tire so I pulled over again. When I bounced on the bike I noticed the rear tire was flat. I checked the tire pressure and it showed zero pressure. I picked up a nail probably right after leaving work.

I probably would have kept going home on a flat tire.

Beat me to it, I was thinking Michelin Power 2ct. What I have, so I will be watching to see what happens with the warranty. It does look like a puncture hole, which makes me feel better about the tire. Very happy that you had no major issues with it. A tire blowout is probably my greatest fear on the bike.

Exactly!,- that's why I asked for the Brand/model, - Would be nice to drum up some numbers to see if certain brands and or models have these tendencies!

Holy $hit man mega kudos on keeping shiny side up! That sucks because that tread looked cherry. Also I huge hunk of rubber displaced... Great job keeping yourself upright, and I hope you guys didn't just coincidentally get lemons... I'll stick with stock til they're near bald.
