I rode the SPYDER once, it was really fun in the turns! If you want to buy one, make sure you do it for the sole purpose of exoticism. You want to get a unique vehicle for unique reasons. For practicality? Performance? Search elsewhere...

Yes you are supposed to have a motorcycle license to ride one but I think you have to pass the test on a motorcycle. It is weird though because it doesnt handle like a motorcycle. Yeah go ahead and countersteer a can-am.

The Piaggio MP3 is pretty cool. It can lean like a real bike (or scooter) but it can also ride like a car. Checkout the videos of it!

I watched that video - neat. It LOOKS very similar to the handling of a motorcycle. I wonder if it FEELS like a motorcycle. For instance, I wonder if the lean is induced by counter steering as in a motorcycle? Or perhaps it is induced by the computer sensing speed and how hard you turn the handlebars and then controlling actuators that tilt the bike. Maybe the difference would be imperceptible to the user, but it could be confusing to go between the MP3 and the MC if a left hand turn on the MP3 is induced by pulling on the left bar rather than pushing the left bar as on an MC. It would be cool to try one. I've seen a few around. Looks skinny enough to lane split!

The T-rex is pretty sweet looking, I'll give it that. But I can't see any advantage of three wheels over four. The T-Rex scrapes by because it has a hellaciously fat rear tire to give it enough of a contact patch.

If I want two wheels, I ride a motorcycle. If I want a car with an open ****pit, I'll buy an Arial Atom. (I might have to sell my house, though.)

The Spyder....is interesting. Obviously I wouldn't buy one unless I couldn't figure out what else to do with the money, and I already had a stack of 100's in my bathroom for wiping purpouses. But it's neat none the less.

Isn't being exposed to the elements 90% of the difference between riding and driving? I agree, nothing with a roof or lid can be called a motorcycle.

i thinkt hey have a place in the market, but personally don't paln on owning anything with 3 wheels until i can no longer ride something with 2.

more power to the older folks i have heard of on trikes who used to have motorcycles and had to get something more stable once a certain age and ailment struck. they're keeping the freedom and fun of riding in their lives.

That's an oxymoron, bikes have 2 wheels as in 'bi'cycle, trikes haves 3 wheels as in 'tri'cycle.
