Got my third set of tires put on this week. I put 10,400 miles on the Bridgestone Battlax's that came with the bike, but admit they were pretty badly squared over when I replaced them (in fact I dropped the bike the first day with the new Pilot Powers, just not used to riding on "round" tires!). Had 18,300 miles on the bike when I got the Pilot Road 2's put on, and the Pilot Powers were a bit squared over after 8,000 miles too (not too bad considering they're supposed to be a high-performance, softer tire). We'll see how many miles the Pilot Road 2's, with their dual compounds, hold up for.
I wish I could provide some sort of objective opinion about how the three compare, but I'm afraid just getting off an older, squared-off tire makes such a difference that anything else is beyond my feel. But wow can I feel the difference with new, round tires zipping up Ogden Canyon, almost feels like a different bike!
