My mom's State Farm insurance premium just doubled! She asked why and was told that all premiums in Austin were subject to the same increase. WTF? What on earth would cause that?

I have USAA and my rates haven't increased.
Is this for home owners or vehicles? If it is home owner that was a bill passed by the State to limit, I think, the amount of increase from year to year. This was due to the big mold scare of a few years ago.
Has she called her company to ask why? Maybe it was a simple error???
I hope she can get it resolved.

She's supposed to get a call from the regional manager to esplain whas goin' on. I'll let you know. Might be worth checking tho.
