nup, i voted the way I thought I would, commendable submits from all, but as soon as I saw the entry that I liked, I thought i'd keep an open mind.....I came back to the one I liked

Over the past few months I've realized it's more of a "Landscape of the Month (with a small, blurry bike in the foreground)"photo competition than anything.
The smaller the ratio of bike to background, the more votes you receive.

There have been a lot of great pictures this month and I think there were a lot of winners this month but alas we can only vote for one.
I like seeing the entrees and sometimes the compositions are very creative.
This month has been one of the best I've seen on BOTM. Great job everyone!

Well, I could enter a close up picture of my sexy bike, covered in road goo, in my garage full of junk with really bad lighting.........but it wouldn't be very inspiring would it? [edited to avoid failure of the forum humour software] for most people bikes are about "fun, freedom and adventure". Most, if not all the entrees so far have been pretty much about that.

I love looking at the great pics, and it's really personal taste, but I can't say that one "type" of photo is always the winner, here in Holland it's very flat so I find it helps to include interesting buildings (well I guess I've played my windmill trump card already).
Generally I do look at a nice "bike" pic, but I loved the "Gods own country (county)" pic, great composition, and maybe because the "tour de France" reminded me what a great place it is.
Having said that there are lots of great pics and it's really tough to pick one. I normally enter a photo but I've just come back from a couple of weeks away, taste varies, so everyone has a chance of winning, so please keep them coming :thumbup:

Because of payneib question and it's raining like crazy outside right now, I went back just for S & G's and counted how many voters we had in that month.....
Jan = 26
Feb = 24
Mar = 25
Apr = 25
May = 26
June = 26
July - 22
and this month so far, we've had 31 members vote!
