Aretha Franklin, not a good choice today

Was it just me or was Aretha Franklin's rendition of "My Country 'Tis of Thee" about the most poorly sung in recent memory?

If she had tired out for American Idle with that I think she would have been a big NO-GO. She barely finished half of the notes.

One would have thought that a slightly younger more " in the times" performer would have been tasked for this honor. Not to mention she field dressess just shy of 425 lbs... not to ipume the larger set, but may have had a contributing factor to the not so hot performance...

I don't know the song but it sounded very much like a load of different lyrics to the tune of God Save the Queen!!! She should have done her turn from the Blues Brothers - You Gotta THINK!
