I'm looking to get some riders together for a little trip. My wife hates the bike, and my brother-in-law destroyed his, but I'm putting it back together for him.

I'd love to, but it's getting a bit cold for me man. I don't think I'll be going very far (much less at highway speeds) for a while now. Sorry. Maybe in the spring?

If you went to the dragon, would you trailer everything, or ride down? I just have the factory seat, not very padded.

I don't own a trailer....or even a truck. So no other option but to ride it.
Google maps says it's only 300 miles from Louisville. You can subtract ~80 miles....that's not bad at all. As long as you take breaks every 45-60 minutes you wont have any lingering soreness, even with the stock seat. But it's all a personal comfort thing.

I have rode there twice, its no big deal man. You can do it.
