i sold a bike at a dealership once. i was in there to buy a jacket and was looking at the bikes. some dude started talking to me, asking me what i knew about bikes X and Y, so i told him. of course im not a salesman nor did i work there, so somebody else got the commission....
it always amazes me that, many salesman dont know the specs on their bikes. anybody can look those up why do i have to remember them when i go look at bikes. of course i get off on that crap so i can tell you the figures on most anything in the shop. even if you cant get the exact figures right you should know that a 600 SS bike has 125hp* and a 1000 has 180*. i just think as a salesman you should know more about what you're selling than your customers do.
thats what to look for in a shop. that and the ability of the salesman to realize that pre-owned inventory should be a quick move, not occupy floor space....
