..and I wasnt even riding my bike.

I was in Eagle Rock, Glendale, had lunch, crossing the street on foot with my girlfriend towards target on Colorado and Sierra Via. And Right when we were in the middle of the last lane, I heard tires screeching, not a brake screech but like they do when you take a corner too hard. So I look up and there was a dark color SUV literally 10ft away coming at us at full speed with screeching tires thru the turn. I had a good grip on my gf's shirt ready to throw her out of the way and as i did that, the guy swerved around me and stopped past me. I was so hyped on adrenalin I yelled him to stop repeatedly 4 times and he looked at me in the eye and drove off. His plate is 4FRE342, a dark SUV with a fat bastard in it. Already reported to the cops. He drove into the residency on Sierra Via.

And I never had this happen to me so it was very weird. I had 1-2 bad close calls on the bike which didnt feel like this at all. When I saw the car i remember thinking clearly, "wow I am getting run over right now, this is really happening.." That half a second where I saw the car and he swerved around us felt like a long time. I definitely understand that whole film strip thing now. It was slow motion.

This was definitely sobering to me. i realized that I should maybe stop feeling so secure in my little world while i walk the streets.. Maybe the motorcycle riders philosophy need to be adapted to life in general. I am invisible and all are out to get me.

Maniacs are out there although it seems like this kinda **** happens only in movies or to other people. Watch out friends..

Glad you already had the 'out' figured out for your girl..... amazing that so many sociopaths are allowed to drive....

Good thing it turned out all right!

Dang man, that sucks. Glad to hear that you and your gf are okay. People drive around with their heads completely up their asses these days; the only person that's going to make sure you get across the street safely is you. I have to yell at people all the time for not seeing me in this particular intersection near work. It's freaky - they don't see you and aren't even looking for you. I don't get it.

Stay safe man.

Thanks for relaying your story. I was just talking to my wife about how much more "in the zone" I am when riding vs. driving, walking, etc. You're right, we should all be on guard at all times with all the idiots on this planet. Hope they catch the a**hole.

Glad you're ok! Seems more and more people feel that they're the only one that matters. It's their own road and they can do whatever they want on it. I was riding with a buddy yesterday, stopped at a stop sign going to turn left when an SUV pulls up across from us (he's got a stop sign too). My buddy turns left and almost gets run over by the old bastard in the SUV on his phone. I let him go and he was looking at me like I was the F'ng problem????

Man, some people just need to be put down.

I came around a bend in suburbia yesterday, having a bit of fun (yes I am a hoon), and there was a group of folk standing in a front yard with some kids running around, so I slowed right down (like fast running speed. You never know where all the kids are or what they'll do). I got a wave and a nod from the parents, and the little kids were waving.:D They knew I'd been going hard, 'cause they heard me coming, but obviously appreciated the fact that I was down to a crawl within a second of sighting them.

It doesn't take much effort, and it's not like it ruined my whole day. People that just won't slow down or gotta 'play games' with other folks lives need shooting, IMHO. They won't ever change....they are just @$$holes. Like boy racers who want to 'race' motorbikes with their turbo toy.

Glad you were OK.

So Glad you made it through to relay the good thoughts and heads up on this kind of behavior McLovin. There are some real A$$hats that fool the gov't into letting them drive.

People in cars rarely look for pedestrians, even in crosswalks. I always assume the idiot behind the wheel is going to try to hit me even if they do make eye contact with me. In general the world is full of a lot more stupid people than smart people. Keep your eyes out for the stupids ones because they aren't looking for you. The sad thing is it doesn't hurt to be stupid, it should! Glad you aare OK.
Did you tell the police it was attempted vehicular assault? I think I would have.

I work in Glendale (next door to Eagle Rock). They have the worst drivers ever! Kids going balz out in Beemers and Mercedes and pedestrians getting run over all the time.
