airbox to throttle body boots question

i was installing the headlight wiring harness, and when i was putting back the airbox, i noticed that there is some glue between the throttle body boots and the plastic airbox, and on one of the boots, the glue seemed to pull away from the plastic..not sure if there is a leak or not, but it seemed strange to me.

is this a problem? i know on a carbed bike a leak there could cause a lean condition and poor idling, which i havent experienced...

Mine did the same thing. I just tightened up the clamps and presto. Works fine to me. I really don't understand why they have glue there to begin with.
