Aftermarket exhaust and staying upright.

I had the bike crashed with akrapovic exhaust.
I had no problem with insurance.
Have in mind that insurance companies here in Greece prefer to pay for aftermarket exhaust because the OEM exhausts are by far more expensive than the after market.
They just need the invoice from the new exhaust without mentioning the brand!
For example: akrapovic (left can) for yamaha tdm900 500 euros. OEM can 750 euros!!!

I was impressed with your R1 exhaust mod and down here in Australia, I would call you a 'bush mechanic'. There was a tv show about some Indigenous kids that drove around in cars made from spare parts found along our dusty back roads, quite ingenious. I am sure they would be impressed with your mod as well.

Of the 2 crashes over 34 years on a street bike, all had the stock mufflers (1975 Yamaha RD 350, 1985 Honda VT 1100). I ride roughly 8,000 - 10,000 street miles per year, in moderate traffic year round...

I believe the Scorps I currently have on the FZ (without DB killers) does make other cages nearby realize I'm there more so than the original, quiet stock muffler.



Not to get off topic, I did get a hold of Scorpion mufflers in the UK. DB killers for the smooth end pipes (conical) shipped to SW Florida is about $100 delivered for 2.
