I had a Scorpion helmet years ago. It had a fog resistant face shield that worked great. The secret was to wash it with plain water a dab it dry. Wiping the interior part of these shields leaves lint. Never wipe shields with paper towels. I use a micro cloth with my shields.

I flip up my shield at low speeds or stopped, so my face shield doesn't fog.


However, If I was really in a serious situation with a a face shield fogging, then I would pull over to the side of the road. Spit on the inside and rub it down with my shirt. Yes, saliva works great for anti-fog, cost nothing, and is always available.

Thanks for the links I did try the Fog City insert, worked great until the end of winter then it started to fog. I don't want to use another because when I pulled the old one off it left a huge mark around the visor.

Yeah but some people don't want to spit in their shield every day.

Yeah. I had a similar experience with a Pinlock last year ... http://www.600riders.com/forum/safety-equipment/46832-pinlock-visor-durability.html Unfortunately they don't last forever and can leave a mess behind. But I don't think I could ride without.

I've done trip on northern california couple days ago and I have some more insides on subject.

FogCity worked ok. It was pain in ass to put it properly on my faceshield. However it was giving me annoying glare. Especially during night. It was so annoying, I've remove it.

I'm using trick with dish soap It works great. Only problem I see is liquefaction on faceshield. Rather than fog, small drops appear and vision gets blury ( but clear !). For me it's not a big problem. I can see road perfectly although little blury.

From options I have (no pinlock in helmet) I will just drop bottle of dishsoap to my tailbag and reapply it every evening.

Fog city all the way. Never had a problem or any fogging since I started using them. Admittedly, I haven't tried to pull one off. I did have one come off after 2 seasons, but my visor was pretty scratched up so I chucked them both out. I only use tinted visors so just leave a clear fog city insert in all the time.

I tried this and it's no better than the Fog City one, these things drive my OCD mad when you try and install it, you need to place them perfectly the first time and then your Fracked if you find dust/debris have found their way between the two shields you will never get it out. I'm pretty sure I placed mine correctly and after a week the top part has started to fog. I'm going to use it tell it stops working like the Fog City one did. Just sticking with the dish soap and breath box I guess.

Sorry forgot to link the new one. It's a huge meh like Fog City. I will say I can see these working if it's not your daily rider but yeah waste of money.

Pin lock is the way forward. I've been using mine for a year in temperatures from about -15DegC to 32DegC and its never fogged, with the exception of a small "nose patch" that seems to get saturated after about an hour and halves riding. At its worst it starts turning into a ski goggle type view, but never bad enough to worry about. A quick blast of air clears it. And a quick flick open of the visor once every hour and a half isn't too much of a hardship.

The main problem I have, like others have mentioned, is my glasses fogging. But I've found way around it. I put my helmet on, shut the visor. My glasses fog. Then I start the bike, get my rucksack on, sort out any luggage, put my gloves on and get on the bike. By that time, the bike and my glasses have warmed up, and once my glasses are the same temp as the inside of my lid, they don't fog anymore.
