think ive seen this before. but a 700cc V4 with only 45-50HP and only a 3.7 gallon tank? and its ugly like all honda bikes? who do they expect to sell this to? i like honda as a company but my goodness they need to think a little harder before they build something like this. just the gas tank alone, 3.7 gal at 50mpg is 185, and at 40mpg with a 4.5 gal tank the fz6 gets 180 and if just cruising i get 50mpg easy so im over 200. then the HP, this bike WILL be heavy because honda always adds unnecessary weight to these bikes so it will feel like a slug if you try to pass somebody over 50mph. if it had a bigger tank and the HP it should have (at least 70) it would be worth looking into because the V4 engine is one of the best engines in the world for durability, performance, and size/compactness. its a shame really.

NC700X uses a parallel twin, 670cc engine.

If the price is right, it would be a better option for me than the super tenere that I'll never own. I like it!

The motor is very interesting. It's redline is just above 6k. It's a parallel twin but because of engine design (probably crank position and cam) it produces torque like larger 80 bhp engine at lower rpm and then acts like a 40 bhp at higher revs. It's a very revolutionary design and they estimate mileage at 80MPG.

Basically a single platform engine and frame for 2 bikes and a scooter.

I would like one of these as a second alternative. Every bike doesn't need to be a superbike and I think this is progressive thinking on Honda's part to lead the way with some alternative economic transportation.

Maybe you confused it with the Honda crosstour. That one does have a V4.

With a $7,000 price tag Honda (50HP) over the BMW F 650 GS (71HP) for $11,500... That group of buyers isn't exactly looking for tire smoking performance. The Beemer gets upwards of 65mpg. I kind of like the looks of the NV700X, just like I like the BMW F 650/800 GS and the Triumph Tiger 800XC. The Super Tenere is in another class, same as the R 1200 GS and the Tiger Explorer 1215. I'd love to own a Tiger 800XC.

The NC700S doesn't look half bad, kind of like the old 599 but leaning more towards a beginner/commuter bike.

Being I just bought my FZ6 only five months ago (and financed it) I won't be getting anything for the next couple of years anyway. By then the 800XC will be a good used buy!

yeah i think it mentioned hondas other bikes with V4s. oh well my bad.

I really like the looks of this bike. Although, $2k for ABS and dual clutch transmission is kind of high compared to the base price of the bike.
