2009 Model?

So the FZ1 has USD forks but no guard on it to protect it from the elements? That's a bit crap. Look at any offroad bike with USD forks and they all have a plastic guard that protects the fork from dirt/damage. That would have to be the first mod if I got one.

I sort of have to remind you, that you're comparing an FZ1 with an offroad bike...
 
bump for more input, we're getting closer to the release date of Yamaha's sport bikes, anyone have some inside info?

This got me thinking. Right now, my 2007 FZ6 is my first bike. Although I'm totally in love with her, I kinda consider her as my "learning" bike. There are so many great bikes out there, and if I'm ever in the market for a new one, I don't think it'll be another FZ6... She's perfect for me now, but in 2 or 3 years, it may be time for a step up...

Yamaha FZ6 has been around for a while now, some updates have been made during the years but if Yamaha should continue with thier intervalls so should a new model be released 2009.
If they make a new model its pretty certain that they use the engine from R6 and decrease the power.
But until we hear anything from Yamaha its all speculations.
So even this computermanipulated picture.

+1000 here.... Why would they kill the undertail exhaust that is the bike's signature? I really hope that is just a bad artistic concept. To me, it looks MORE like an updated FZ1 and not the 6!
