so i just bought a $2 sticker from a local skate/snowboard shop. stuck it on the windscreen then stuck the suction cup on it. the suction cup actually sticks really well. not sure why. just in case i put a safety strap on it. originally i was going to glue it on with superglue (hence using the sticker) but changed my mind.

when GPS is on the windscreen i don't nee to look down as far which is nice. what do ya guys think?

I just stick mine right to the windshield. Though i can't stick it up that high. The bumps tend to knock it off because the shield flexes a lot more up there. I usually put it right above the tac as low as i can.

Hey i've been thinking about doing this too. I have a gps with the same mount, and contemplated heavily sticking it on the windscreen. I wasn't sure though if the vibrations would knock it off.

You guys have problems losing your GPS when mounting it on the windscreen like so?

Whats it look like from the front? Is it just "glue" white? Or did you use one of those 'stick it on the inside so it shows on the outside' stickers?

it looks white on the other side. i will put another sticker there so it looks better. i went for a ride with lots of bumps and went on the highway the suction cup was very sturdy. if it falls off the strap will save it.

ever thoguht of getting one of those lanyards for a leash??? i would think i would think of somethign as a safty leash.. you know.. for the "just in case" moment...

I've had the gps mount in my car fall off a few times, for the $40 a ram kit costs, does this really make sense?

yeah i thought about getting ram mount but many of them sit too low, and i can't seem to find a mount that mounts in the center of the handlebar cuz the handlebar clam is too big. i could find 06 clams but seems too much trouble.

usually i re-attach the suction cup before i ride so it's sturdy again. plus with the safety strap i don't think anything bad will happen. once i get the 12v socket it can act as a secondary safety strap as well.

ok folks. anyone who wants to do this NEED to use glue. when the surface is dirty, and it gets dirty from dust quite fast, the suction cup no longer works.
