I spent last winter moddifying my 05 FZ6.

First picture is what it used to be

Main things I`ve done is:

- 07 R1 front end complete; fork, rim, brake
- Painted frame satin black
- Hyperpro lower rear spring
- Two brothers exhaust
- Led rearlight
- Led signal light
- Carbon fibre front fender
- Carbon fibre sidepanels
- Naked headlight w/xenon (blue angel eye)
- Painted the exhaus black

The R1 fork is about 2" shorter than the original FZ6 fork, and is dropped 1" in the fork tree.

The handling is superb, steady in 100 miles/h cruising and sharp in the turns,
and with the new 6 pods brake from the R1, stopping is no problem.

It looks nice.
Is it easy to fit R1 forks? Did you use R1 triple tree?
How does the front brakes feel now?

did you use the stock fz6 triple? did you just clamp it to the forks?

top job you did there and the front end suits the fz it does not feel out of place at all!

I had to use the R1 trippel.

First the original had to small diameter to fit R1 legs,
also the original trippel bolt had to small diameter both at the top and bottom to fit the R1 trippel.

I had to extend the R1 bolt by about 15mm (not fully conversant with the inch), fortunately we have some excelent metal workers at my work, so that part was quite simple.

I also had to grind of the stoppers, and rebuild these so that i got the turning radius correct.

At the same time, I swaped the bearings, the lower bearing is a tappered roller bearing. I had to use a standard roller bearings at the top due to the frame has to small diameter.

I expect that this will work fine since it`s the lower bearing that takes up most of the motion.

I also got the ignition key holder (sorry for my english) moved from the original top clamp so that the Steering wheel lock is working properly.

Can you please explain how you fix this two problems because I'm in doubt prior to start my conversion to USD?
