Not quite a fair comparison, but an interesting mental exercise. Thanks.
I think a lot of factors go into it.. general coordination and athletic ability.
Awareness, caution, and general accuracy of prediction concerning other people on the road.
But mostly, I've been driving a car for 10 years...
After reading this thread, I will defniitely practice slow speed in the parking lot with somebody before I enter traffic. Whenever that time may be.
I'm considering buying a piece of luggage for the back and throwing 100lbs worth of junk weight onto the fizzer. It will give me a chance to...
I'm having the same problem.
A friend of mine suggested some fuel injector cleaner, but I haven't had a chance to give that a try yet.
I think he also said something about carborators maybe being out of sync, but that was more of -a general bike statement and he doesn't know any of the internal...
I've only been riding a month now (i know!), but I'm considering giving my GF a ride from her work back home to her house.. it's only a couple of miles and 1-2 turns at traffic lights across some totally straight, well maintained suburban roads.
It seems safe, and she is really tiny so...
not absolutely perfect since the helmet shifts them around a little bit.
I haven't had much of a problem when putting them helmet on; they seem to fall out sometimes when taking the helmet off.
For me it was a choice between the FZ6 and the GSX650F
Loved the FZ6 after test riding it and the price was righ so I never got a chance to ride the GSX.
This GSR750 looks sweet.
Right now my current plan is to test ride an FZ1 and a CBR1000 when I'm ready to move up to a faster bike
I am in the same position as you.
The only water overpants I've come across with seemingly great protection are the air-mesh kevlar, but they look kind of ugly and are REAALLY expensive.
I try to be cautious, but I have accidently pulled the throttle too hard in my early days on the FZ6. It may have been when trying to reach for the front brake, or going through a far right side turn. Not sure but I do know that accidents can happen when you're developing your initial...
I'm curious why you guys have an FZ6 instead of an FZ1.
I considered getting an FZ1, but this is my first bike and so it seemed wise to get some experience with a smaller engine first.
I just looked at the user manual for an FZ1, and I'm a little jealous of the shift points. It looks like...
I bought the pair of SE115.
The largest padding seems to block out sound about the same as a normal ear plug, and the music sounds great at a much lower setting than I normally put my ipod at.
There is an included extension cord in the factory packaging.. but the normal cord is obscenely...
I went down to bestbuy yesterday to check these earplugs out.
They're called "sound isolating" and are made by shure.
my bestbuy had 2 of the models
SE115 and SE210
They have 3 size tips that you can slide in your ear like a plug.
I seem to have read good reviews so far, but the SE115 is...
that's not going to protect you from hearing damage
it will just talk over the traffic noise, so to speak, by pumping more decibels into your ears on top of everything else.
I tried riding around without a windshield today. I felt like I had to pull my head forward at high speeds, and it stressed my neck a little.
I am 6'4", and with the standard windshield it blows the air directly at my neck! It goes up my helmet and dries my eyes out.
I may try lowering the...
