I like a couple Ducati's also....................except the cost of maintenance.

I really like it, I had the bars 1" lower than stock on the FZ and it just wasn't enough. The wind on my chest at cruising speed actually keeps the weight off my wrists pretty well. I'm 43 years old and it doesn't bother me. Of course my longest ride so far has only been 150ish miles.

I probably have 100,000-150,000 miles on bikes over the years and to think a new rider would own an R1 is frightening.

Unbelievable, the FZ1 had a ton of pull all the way to the top end but not like this. Makes the FZ6 and the FZ1 I had feel like they were made out of wood.

Needed a little work, cleaning up, and a few more things (personal preference stuff). Turned out pretty good and WOW............is this fun to ride.. :thumbup:

Thank you for the compliments everyone. Just so it's known, if this bike needed anything.........it got it. It has 10,000 miles on it and has had 8 oil changes already, valve adjustment checked, serviced every spring, everything. I know you never really get the money back selling a bike with...

He is right by saying "contaminated fuel" can cause problems...........guess what, almost all fuel has contamination in it. Whether it's water, dirt, etc.

I burned a fuel pump up on a diesel truck about 20 years ago running it out of fuel, cost me $1000.00. Every since then 1/4 tank means empty. I apply the same wisdom to my bike.

Road salt stops me from even thinking of riding in cold weather. That **** is terrible for your bike and there's no way mine will ever see it.

I'm trying to follow what the OP said.....................nope, still don't get it. Wonder if he flips his bike upside down to adjust the chian like we did to our bmx bikes as kids....................... Also, how in the world have you never heard of an oil filter wrench?

I will add! I can't say anything real bad about Nicholsons but have never purchased from them either. I wouldn't spend my money at Great Lakes if it was the last dealer in Michigan! They are far to busy to answer a question on anything. I bought some riding equipment for my son there last fall...
