That's exactly what I do. When my wife and I go for a ride, I'll take two cable locks.
One cable lock is for the helmets. I have the helmets on the seat, run it through the face of the helmets and down through the frame.

This afternoon at about 5:55 p.m. I was driving up I-95 and was just north of the Eau Gallie Blvd exit when I saw a red FZ6 heading south. It had stock pipes, and the rider had a red riding jacket.
