I am local Hedgesville but unfortunatly I very rarely get time to just ride for fun.

I have an old sportster that I love, rode and worked on every day for a few years. (rebuilt transmission, top end, brakes, clutch, etc etc etc) I have kept it for occasional Harley type rides and events. In feb 2009 I got a new 08 fz6 that I have put 23,000 miles on with only 2 sets of tires...

good luck, I just did mine a few weeks ago, the on off the bike is the easy part. I did mine alone, with help would be better. i used homemade tire irons and bead breaker. getting the new tires on was the hardest part. Keep new tire bead centered in rim vally as much as possible while puting...

2008 new in feb 2009 12,000 miles so far 10 very cold miles yesterday to blow out the cobwebs!

Good for you A few years ago I bought an old sportster to use as a commuter 50 miles each way. well of coarse the nerves and traffic were bad enough but I had a lot of break downs. well this february I got an 08 fz6 and now have over 7000 miles on it, mostly to work and back. I save 3 gallons...

Congrats, I think you will like it I got mine (blue 08) in feb 09 already 3k miles of pure fun good for commuting (100 mile round trip), good in traffic like rolling thunder, and a total blast out of town.

hello im Jack im new to the fz6 but have been back into riding for 2 years after 18 years on the wagon. I am a stationary engineer (boilers) and commute 50 miles 1 way every day. My 1981 sportster is not reliable enough for these kind of miles, 7000 miles last year with several break down...
