    New TS seat, first impressions

Hi Mcteague, About comfort, did you order your saddle WITH the TS pan (black colour) or did you send your stock seat to France? By chance I could test the two versions and there is a difference: 1 - Based on stock seat, the feeling is "firmly soft" and the seat fits the bike better. TS ADDS a...

    Flashing break LEDs add-on

Nice job! I too think some red flashes may help to alert. And funny as I'm just working on a similar mod... I did my own "modulator" to give flash-flash-flash-flash-steady. That's to say four flashes then LEDs steady bright. Everything works well on the bench. Now I've to mount it on the bike...

    Top Saddlery Ordered!!

I agree with you Boneman when you say: "With the fabric pulled so tight on it, it actually distorts the shape of the pan". By chance I've been able to "test" the "two pan versions" of the TS regular comfort seat in the same designs (fabric, stitching...): the stock one (white plastic) and the...

    Top Saddlery Ordered!!

Glad for you, Boneman: nice seat! And thanks for the pics! I do like the black/silver contrast. IMHO it gives some "peps" to the seat and also a smart touch to the bike... "Since the seat has a nice silver piping on it, I will now probably remove the gold pin striping on the two...

    T.S. Or Corbin?

Congrats 06fz6green! I guess you will be very pleased with your future TS seat... I understand your gf was near to order one for you! ;) As you, before I got one I looked at them so long and so many times on the TS website and through reviews, that I got sick with that!.. At the end, one...

    Strange stalling problem on 2008

Good for you Goker! And I 200% agree with TownsendsFJR1300: electronic/computered/digital devices onboard realy hate loosen connections... It's why when we make a mod, let's be very, very careful as how we manage the "thing"! Cheers

    12v outlet fuse question

 Seems good to me, clrd_2_lnd. A "not-so-long" 16 gauge wire is OK for a 10A fuse... Just for info, have a look here: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/amps-wire-gauge-d_730.html They made a table gauge/amps for different wire lengths. Interesting... The wire lenght to...

    My new "sub-dashboard"

I don't know if useful, but I found a pic related to the voltmeter before install. However it's a pic of the one I did earlier for my other bike: same little black box for the device and LEDs display board shape a bit different due to the fitting. But same global design for the two bikes...

    12v outlet fuse question

Hi clrd_2_lnd, To be safe, better you do the opposite: first try a 5A fuse; if blowing go for a 10A (but I highly doubt that!). Always go for the lowest fuse you may use... By the mean what is the gauge of your feeding wires? To be safe, 10A requires at least a 1 sqmm gauged wire! IMHO Cheers

    My new "sub-dashboard"

Thanks to all for your comments, advices, tips and ideas... Very useful. Am I going for a new "sub-dashboard" right now? Ehm... I suppose I will go with this one as it is for some months  Sorry no pics "before/after" and no pics "LEDs shining yet! If someone interested, here is...

    My new "sub-dashboard"

Hi all, Some days ago, I just finished the "sub-dashboard" on the rear plastic board of the front half-fairing: Zimage.biz LHS BOARD: - Splashproof cigarette-lighter socket. To plug a smart battery tender as well as a GPS or some 12V accessorie. - Battery/Charge monitor ON/OFF...

    12v outlet fuse question

I do agree with alanrim! Never use a BIG fuse if not necessary: better protection. 5A is OK for what you expect to do. It allows you to use about 60 watts, much much more than one GPS needs! Furthermore, try to settle your fuse the closest to the + battery you may do: your wiring will be...

    Strange stalling problem on 2008

As previously said, I went to the Yamaha workshop here, and I had a good time with the mechanics. They checked the whole diagnostic program and only found the TPS value was a bit high at full opened throttle: 103 instead of 97 to 100, while at full closed throttle value was oscillating between...

    Strange stalling problem on 2008

A few hours ago I tried the TPS checking on the display as mentionned by tomari. I only get a dI on the desplay and can't get anything more using "select" or "reset": nothing changes or moves... When turning the key off and then on, the display comes back to its "usual" indications... My bike...

Top Saddlery seat: my new seat review...

Wow, what a story, AIrey1507! I understand your feeling about this old man... As I said above, and by experience, the french tracking system from La Poste - Colissimo is absolutely UNUSEFUL/UNHELPFUL! I suppose nobody scan the bar-code all along the parcel trip... Anyway, good for you, at...

    touring screen

As says goker: is there a perfect screen? I doubt it... For my part I use a MRA Vario touring-screen, and untill now I'm pleased with it: http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-mods/29838-mra-vario-touring-screen-my-review.html I'm 6'2" tall and settled on the bike in a rather straight...

    Strange stalling problem on 2008

I got the same stalling problem (FZ6F 2008) when hot. But I never figured the temps when it happened. My bike usually idled at stock/original speed just below 1000 rpm when hot. When engine cold, the bike ran fine. But after 20 or 30 minutes in city traffic and hot weather, the bike began to...
