0.15mm would not go under.
Minimum gap required is 0.13mm.
So I have a gap of at least 0.10mm.
Maybe it is at 0.13mm - I was going to say if I had that thickness gauge I would have known and then it dawned on me that I could have used a 0.10 and a 0.03 together...
Clearance on cylinder #1 for intake is looking a bit tight. I decided to leave this as even though I couldn't get 0.15mm feeler gauge in I might have been able to get 0.13mm in if one existed. I fear you are all going to say it needs a new valve pad now to open it up a little.

Checked my valve clearances today.
Mileage is 52500 (not KMs). FZ6 Fazer 2008 S2.
The thought of stripping bike down and removing the cylinder head cover felt intimidating but with info on this forum and the service manual I did it and feel really satisfied.

I had dealer check valves and sync carbs at 24K. I did the rest of the service myself.
The valves were all within specs.
Valve check and carb sync cost me GBP150.00. Wish I'd done it myself now.
Referring to diagram on 4-2,
Headlight assembly is not labeled in the diagram so I'll label it #10
P = philips head screw
H = hex head screw
Item #10 is secured to the front fairing frame with 4P screws.
Item #4 is secured to #10

Thanks. I have reviewed whats involved. Carb sync'ing looks simple and the valve check just looks time consuming with the disassembly and reassembly to gain access.

My FZ6 Fazer 2008 S2 has recently reached 24K miles and required a service.
I have done everything myself apart from item #3 - Valves and item #24 Fuel injection.
My local Yamaha dealer has quoted 3hrs labour and a final bill of GBP141.00 for checking the valve clearance (#3)...
I do 350 miles a week commuting to work and wouldn't have anything other than a Scottoiler. I do get a fair bit of mess from it but it's not a big deal because I find it's far easier to wash off than any other lube.
And I see the fling off as a good thing because its taking any grit with it...

Ok, I don't think the spark plug leads are meant to be pulled from the coil. (Don't know why the plastic clip is on there).
