The engine is a detuned R6, its built to rev (it redlines at 14k FGS) it does not like to be molly-coddled. REV IT and keep REVVING IT! She'll thank you for it. Just service it regularly.

I have just got a call from Yammy who have my '07 bike on the bench. They have confirmed that my problem is not the headrace bearings, rather it is a worn pin on the offside caliper causing the caliper to move under load. The entire caliper needs replacement.

Only known issues are: - Steering head bearings are poor will need testing and poss replacement after 12k. - Rear shocks are a bit cheap - Front shocks are not adjustable so its difficult to tune into the rear shock adjustment without getting a little too much compression on breaking...

I was shocked at some of the replies by WLY employee's. Since then the (clearly under the cosh) mechanic has come on and spoken some sense, and the manager (who is undoubtedly being restrained judging by how hes has treated some people) but I think the damage is done. I'll be avoiding them.

Thanks for the info Doorag, surprised me, the guys in WLSuzuki were really nice to me! I guess the people who run the shop dont nessesarily reflect those that own it ;) On another note I'm unsure where to take my bike for its service now. I guess it has to be yamaha to retain the warranty...
