One of my mirrors broke off. I bought a new one, but lost the nuts to attach it. Thought I might be able to grab them at home depot rather than trying to get to the dealer.
o, what size are the mirror nuts?
I have a PC on my 07, and I can't say I notice much difference other than my gas mileage going down a lot. :(
OK, maybe the throttle is a weeee bit smoother.
I think it depends on the type and amount of riding you do. I commute on my FZ6 and I use the Pilot Road 2's exclusively because they have a considerably longer wear life than the Pilot Power.
IMO, the Pilot Powers wear out way too quickly. 4-6k on a pair of tires is just too little...
Unfortunately the bike is still sitting in the garage, busted. I've been working on it when I get a chance, trying to use a hammer and screwdriver to carefully tap it loose, but no luck so far. Frustrating. I don't have very many tools so I haven't been able to try some of the other suggestions...
Wait, you mean drill the screw through the wrench into what's left of the filter?
It seems like if I did that, it would just destroy the filter more when I tried to turn it. Maybe I'm just not understanding.
Sorry for the terrible iPhone pictures, and I know, it's super grimy. This is where it's at now. I got some big pliers, and I still can't budge it. I'm gonna try the "tap the screwdriver through to break the seal" trick, and if it doesn't work.... I don't know what I'll do!
All that's left is the filter base and a small piece of the casing. Those big pliers may do the trick if I can get them on the base. I'll have to look into it.
Soooo... During a oil and filter change, my oil filter was stuck on my 07 fz6. I mean, it must have been put on by He-Man. Oil filter cup wrench didn't work, including with sticky tape. Then, the screwdriver method, which has worked in the past...mangled the filter, leaving just a little casing...
Not honor guard or anything like that - just a regular military person. Desert suede boots - the rubber from the shifter turns the whole right side of the left toe area black, which (apparently) can be considered "unserviceable". =/
Does anyone make an aftermarket shift level for the FZ? Googling didn't turn up much. The standard rubber shifter stains my combat boots, which makes work less than happy, so I'd like to stop this if I can.
So let me preface this by saying I don't know anything about working on bikes. I can change my oil and filter, but that is it.
I walked out in the garage today, and noticed my FZ had some stuff leaked under it.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a black, tar-like substance...
How did you do it? I can't figure out where I should be mounting them - the plastic bungee hooks feel a little flimsy and the seat handles are too close. Where do you people who already have 'em mount em? BTW I don't have the saddlebags yet; does it change when you do get them?
Thanks!
Thanks for that. She's going to apply at the bank here on base tomorrow; maybe that will work out for the better. If it doesn't we'll find something, hopefully.
How do you get a job that pays more than minimum wage without any experience? Having never really job hunted much, myself (thanks, Air Force), I don't really know how it works.
She's a college dropout, after 2 years. Says she wants to go back in spring - we'll see.
BTW - the wife's car is...
I'm in the Air Force, it's a full time gig. 5 days a week, 0730-1630. I also go to college 3 nights a week so getting a second job is not likely to happen (in the military, it has to get approved by your supervisor, and since I'm already taking 8 college units he won't approve it). My wife is...
You sound like you're inside my brain. Everything you said (down to the ridiculous tv) is truth.
Thank you to everyone for some solid advice. I'm gonna hit the bank on base today and see what happens.
