    .

Hi guys, got the rear Metzeler Z8 Interact tyre changed today, after 21473kms (12883mi) The front, I got fitted at the same time still looks good for maybe 2000kms, or so. Humpy estimated I'd get 20000kms or so, based on him getting 18000kms on a heavier bike, so it is good to see the...

    Replacing the CCT

Hello guys. I come to you seeking help for the dreaded task of replacing the CCT on the '05 FZ6. I can get a genuine CCT for about $AU100, and I like this option because the stock one has thus far lasted 60000kms, and I haven't had to fiddle with it - whereas a manual CCT will need...

~~Daily Feed, post what made you laugh today ~~

kenh, yes, Russia does have a lot of dash cams as it is a requirement of their insurance cover. (no cam, the insurance company will not cover you in the event of an accident) It's good viewing if you have a spare couple of mins though!

Experience w/ Variable SPEED Corridor or Interstate. Anyone Have this?

We have variable speed signs on the SE Freeway, out of Adelaide, and I reckon they are excellent, if perhaps a little slow to update after a hazard has passed....

New to bikes, new to FZ6.

Welcome to the forums and to the mighty FZ6. Of the dozen, or so, bikes I have owned, the FZ6 is my favourite! As for tyres, Metzeler Z8 Interact, no question! Fantastic grip, dual compound so you'll get great commuting miles, and best in class wet-weather performance. I saw Keith at...

Metzeler Z8: good news / bad news

Well, at least Metzeler is looking into it. Unlike Michelin, when the PR3s delaminated, they denied all knowledge, without an offer to look into it, and sent a bigshot lawyer in to the court case to hush it all up. BTW my Metzelers are and were perfect. Manufacturing defects happen in...

What do you think of this GoPro knockoff?

I personally hate the size and bulkiness of the GoPro cameras, and this one seems to follow suit. I'd much rather use me Contour cameras. Having said that, however, if you want to mount the camera to your chest, you can't do that with a bullet cam, so even the mighty Contour has it's...

~~Daily Feed, post what made you laugh today ~~

I could only watch a few minutes of that - spoilt children piss me off. If I told my kids I ate their lollies, and they acted like this, they would get a swift smack on the arse. Not to mention, in an age of sexual predators potentially living next door, I disagree wholeheartedly with...

Thanks for the review DeepBlue. I didn't notice this gyroscopic tendency of which you refer, but instead felt the tyres wanted to drop into a corner. My bike feels much more nimble than what I had on there, so I guess it depends on what type of tyre you last had? Definitely need correct...

New FZ6 owner- Long rambling post

Yes, my bike got consistently better mileage with the 98RON. Is it worth the difference? Based purely on the extra mileage, maybe not - but the 98RON also has added detergents etc which keep the injectors clean, and the entire fuel system clean. Cheaper than buying a bottle of Spitfire...

New FZ6 owner- Long rambling post

As a MINIMUM! My FZ6 never got anything but 98RON! (oh, except when I tried to check the mileage because some smart alec forum member said 87RON might be better!) Also, check the TPS! Cheers, Rick

Updates on the NYC Rider vs SUV

My opinion, should I have been the driver if the SUV. Note, this is based on the laws governing the good ol' United States of Oz. The motorcyclists were behaving in a way to suggest they were 'boxing' the SUV in, i.e. depriving him of his liberty. His partner and child were in the car, and in...

Good way to sit there and learn not to lean, I reckon.

I did something today that I think I am going to regret....

I can't ride with earbuds, so I got the Sena SMH5. Stereo, no wires to hook up, good sound, and lets me receive and make phone calls, lets me send and receive texts on the move (Windows Phone Baby!) I can't imagine not having it now! I remember riding over 1000mi (in a day!) a few times...

    Unknown hose split

Thank you gentlemen! So basically, it is just a rubber protective sleeve for the neutral wire, and if the neutral light still works, I don't have to do anything? When I looked from the LHS and saw it, it was kinked a bit, so I straightened it out, and haven't seen it from the RHS, so maybe...

    Unknown hose split

As seen in the pic, it is not a fuel hose. It comes out of the back of the gearbox, in front of the water bottle, and heads up. Any ideas are most welcome! Cheers, Rick

    Unknown hose split

Page 7 of the addendum shows item T, but that is the clip that holds the fuel overflow from the fuel tank, located behind this particular lead. The lead I am referring to is screwed into the back of the engine, in front of that clip. The more I think about it, it almost HAS to be a PCV...

    Unknown hose split

Probably not ditch it completely, but as my brothers need is greater at the moment, it's his for the foreseeable. Cheers, Rick
