You sized it up correctly. 77ft lbs torque, 130bhp and about the same weight as the FZ6 at 417lbs and the three cylinders sound great. How do you like your Akra pipes on the FZ6?

On a twisty road the FZ6 can stay with an R6. However the R6 supension and ergos dispense agressive corners like a knife. The FZ6 however is much better all round road bike IMO for ergos, tight turning radius. Engine wise both have plenty to work with.

I run Pirelli Diablo Strada's on my FZ6 but just rode a friends FZ1 with the Dunlop RoadSmart. IMO they rode great and gave solid performanc for a spirited ride and I had no discomfort even in rain.

Congrats and good luck. It is a great bike and after you burn it in besure to take advantage of the full torque that arrives around 8K rpm. pick a good safe place to do this and you will have a blast. The bike really has two personalities and the high rpm one will expand your mind.

yep just had the same experience on a long agresssive ride. Let the bike work, keep on tht throttle moderately and it will correct. I also watched the bike in front of me and while it felt like my tire was sliding a heck of a lot more, I noticed just a slight slide the width of the tar repair...

I had the same question when I first got my FZ6. One suggestion I would make is ride it a while before modifying the exhaust. Get use to running the higher rpms to maximize the available torque that kicks in around 8k rpm. After you are proficient at the higher rpm's see if you still want to...
