Best Mods to make my FZ commuter friendly ?

I did al of this plus lowered foot pegs from Knight Designs. My bike also has a Corbin seat. It is about as comfortable as a FZ6 can be.

keeping your hands warm this winter!

During my first winter, I also did the brace; not because I had any problems but because I always go overkill on projects. During the warm months, I added hand guards. Now, I go right over the hand guards with the mitts. Here is a link to the hand guards I have. LINK

Well folks, that's all she wrote for this FZ

Always could be worse. In 1985, a friend and I rode bikes to Canada. About 10% into the ride home, he discovered a cracked frame on his XS1100. He decided to say f--k it and we rode home. He welded the frame and then rode that bike to California.

If you have bar ends, any hand guard will require some tweaking. The vstrom guards are the nicest I've seen but they are expensive.

    iPhone on the handlebar

I purchased one of those but my phone kept overheating in it. I have a HTC Evo 4G but wonder if all Android phones put out that much heat. We are upgrading to Galaxy S3s in December so I will try it again when I get that phone.

Did you ever pull the trigger on this? If yes, how does it work. I am about the same size and the buffeting is bothersome.

keeping your hands warm this winter!

A friend taught me a trick years ago. The veins on the top of your hands feed the fingers. If that blood is warm, the fingers will be comfortable. Grip heaters do not keep that part of the hand warm. Here (LINK) is a glove liner that holds a heat pack against the top of the hand. I have used...

keeping your hands warm this winter!

I have grip heaters and the mitts. With this set-up, my hands are never the limiting factor in the cold. In addition, I have the touring windscreen and a heated vest. My bike never gets put away for winter. As for the fastening question... I purchased my FZ6 used and the original...

Put a spacer into the bar end then install a hex head bolt. The bolt and spacer are sourced from any hardware store. My bar ends are Throttlemeister brand.
