My journey to restoring the battered 2007 FZ6 I purchased earlier this summer is almost over.
Got a tank from a dealer in Cali...had a few dings but the price was right. Got some work done on it today...
Im almost done with getting my 07 fz6 back to mint when today...surprise!...I noticed the tank has a soft spot on the left side where it was apparently patched with bondo... And bigger surprise...it was damp with gasoline. (it got worse as night went on too).
I found a minor dinged up 06...
Hey ya'll...
A few of you have been very helpful in other threads. I want to make sure I'm as informed as possible before taking my bike in this week.
I have a slight shimmy at 35-45. It is occasionally above 50. At the lower speeds...it feels like a gentle left/right wobble at times...
See pic below (with circled part) It is the inner panel on both sides that attaches the back of the front cowl to the frame.
I'm not sure what it is called...but looking for both sides for a 2007 (or newer)...maybe someone who has gone naked and has these laying around?
(you can see my zip...
Had some new tires installed. Get on the road...shimmy at 50mph and up. I go back...and they agree to rebalance. I pick it up...take a look at front tire...yep...additional weight on it. Take it for a ride...and more shimmy...now a wobble effect! I look at the front tire again...two weights...
Hey everyone...i'm trying to figure this out but figured i'd ask in case anyone knows off-hand!
Would a 2005 cowl fit on a 2007? I know there were *some* changes between the years...
I have a 2007 with a cowl that's pretty busted up...and I can potentially purchase a 2005 cowl but don't...
I recently purchased a 2007 FZ6 with this installed. Sounds great, just too loud for my tastes.
I've checked prices...despite not being brand new (but in great shape as you can see) so I'm asking $250 plus shipping.

Hey ya'll...
Just sold my 2000 Kawasaki ZR-7 Ninja and bought a 2007 FZ6 that needs some TLC. (It's my third bike, but I'm still learning this stuff)
The front cowl is pretty damaged...I'm wondering if I have an option to go naked or just replace it all? Which would be more cost effective...
