I just went outside and started it. It started up with no fuel pump priming sound and it has been running fine. I turned it off and started it again - this time the fuel pump primed and started.
Could it be as simple as a bad fuel pump? or connection to the pump?
After it starts, I ride it the 20 minutes to work. And after work when I go to start it, it will start right up the first time.
I will check the battery connections. And try to check the fuses. Time to pull out the service manual!
Any other ideas?
Hello all,
Last week my bike wouldn't start. I ride it everyday and after 4 years it was time for a new battery. After the new battery went in, I turn the key to 'ON' and the usual pre-start sequence (tach and odometer cycle from 0 to 300) did its thing, but there was not the usual sound that...
When I am at a complete stop with it in neutral and then down shift into first, my bike jerks forward. It does not actually roll the tires forward, just the body rocks forward and then returns. Does any one know why it does this? My bike is a 2006 w/ 1800 miles.
I think I have put too much oil in and that is the reason for the light coming on. I put about 3 1/2 quarts. I stopped at just under 3 quarts, but the oil light came on and so I thought it meant it needed more oil. Does it harm the engine if there is too much oil in it? Should I try and...
I changed my oil for the first time and afterwards, I started it and the oil warning light came on for about 45 seconds then went off. I assume the oil light was on while the oil was being circulated and then switched off once the new oil was fully circulated. Does this happen to everybody?
I have a question about engine rpm's and when you should be shifting. I have never ridden a bike with such a high redline, but have been told by friends that the 7-10k rpm range is the ideal spot for shifting. The problem is that seems to high because I am going too fast at these rpm's. At...
