fz6 knocked over, minor damage, but...

Did exactly the same as DaveK back in December. Ground was at an steep angle and not in my favor, so bike leaned to the right and couldn't save it from falling over. Minor cosmetic damage. Right handle bar end saved it. Right turn signal scrapped on under side, scrape on right rear view...

    siphoning gas

Fuel injection is a wonderful thing. Keep the tank reasonably full and put in fuel stabilizer. 1oz of stabilizer per two gallons for operational use. I never had any problems using this practice.

    Passenger Backrest

I have a 2006 FZ6 and replaced the factory seat with a Corbin along with the removeable passenger oval backrest. Yes, expensive but worth it (in the $600 range if I recall). Quality is excellent and I think the backrest gives the bike a real custom and unique look. If you are riding two up...

    Frame Slider Installation Question

Sorry no pictures my bike handy right now but pulled some off the web site. Here is the Motovation Web link for the axle sliders: Yamaha FZ6 Fazer Axle Sliders 2004-06 web link for Frame Sliders: Yamaha FZ6 600 Fazer Frame Sliders 04-07 The links have good...

    Frame Slider Installation Question

The nice thing about the Motovation Frame Sliders is they do have a solid alumimum spacer so you do have metal on metal contact for torquing the bolts. I think I will use a bit of the blue and torque to spec. All very helpful comments. Much appreciated! BTW, also installed the Motovation...

    Frame Slider Installation Question

Thanks, would go with the blue for medium strength rather than high strength red. I think it is Loctite 248 for the blue. Can't see how it could be a problem but I was curious about why Yamaha may not be using it for the egnine mount bolts. The original bolt took a bit of effort to break free...

    Frame Slider Installation Question

I have purchased and installed Motovation Frame Sliders on my 2006 FZ6. Installation was very simple which involved removing the right and left engine mounting bolts M10 and replacing them with the longer ones that came with the slider kit. Yamaha specifies 40 ft-lbs of torque to tighten the...

    Silly Battery question

I used a toothpick to raise the nut up enough to catch the threads when I installed the lead to a battery tender. Worked just fine.

    Bike Seat Question

I have a Corbin seat for my 2006 FZ6. Nothing out there compares to the Corbin comfort, quality, and look. I also have the passenger oval seat back option which is removable. Expensive but worth it! About six week lead time from the factory.

    Aftermarket seats

I have a 2006 FZ6 and installed a Corbin seat and oval seat back. Cost a fortune but worth it. Overall quality, fit and finish is superb. The oval seat back is removable. Best aftermarket seat available as far as I am concerned. Huge selection of material. I went with the carbon fiber...

    assembly question

The fastener is really not essential. The fasteners up by the rear view mirrors and the shape of windscreen as it curls into the fairing do a good job holding the stock windscreen in place. If you do not see any vibration at speed, I would not be concerned about that lower fastener. My 2006...

    assembly question

Try a plastic push lock rivet available in most automotive stores. Should accomodate a diameter of .220 inches. They are available in black. Just push it in the hole and the center pin flares the end, locking the fastener in place. Removal is easy as well. Web link to show you a picture...
