So, Cause I am lazy and hate bookmarks (it's an organization thing) I usually just type in FZ6 in Chrome's address field and it does an immediate google search. Well FZ6-Forums use to be #1 on the search results, then last week it fell to #2 behind a defunked Yamaha motors page and now it's #3...
The steering won't be as twitchy as it was before. I had the clipons installed with the fairing and had to have it lowered another .5"+ for that. So it should give it some relief now.
Oh look progress! Looks GREAT! Don't have the speedo cover yet, so the speedo doesn't get mounted and my turn signals haven't came in yet (leds) and my barend mirrors aren't here yet. But the headlight is on and I am thrilled with it.
The brake line is too long and the throttle cable could...
Just got my headlight from dev_usc. All genuine Yamaha parts. Took 10 days from India to get here. He hooked me up with a personal request, the headlight off the FZ16 with the red side fairings. The man delivered, great to work with dev_usc, really responsive with all my email questions and...
I must be missing something. I did a search for that part number on their site and it didn't return any results. Do you have a direct link to the part?
Well thanks for the info. I think something is going to get returned now and order one off Partshark (seeing as I haven't even got it yet)!!! Thanks!
No offense, but your buddy is an idiot.
So if he lowsides in a corner and tumbles some, cracking his head on a rock or something, he'd rather die (no helmet) then get up and walk away (helmet) with only a few minor cosmetic items to fix???
I'll tell you exactly how this affects every single motorcycle rider, and I'll do it in one word...
INSURANCE
No helmet, no gear, etc. equates to more deaths, more injuries, larger insurance payouts, which equals higher premiums for me, you and every other motorcycle rider.
I don't want...
I don't imagine it being that big of a problem unless you are constantly running with your high beam on. The people who have done the dual headlight mod (depending on which way they done it) have the high and low on at the same time on the high beam side.
If you search for the dual...
Since I am doing the Nekkid conversion I have for sale the entire front fairing/headlight assembly.
Comes with:
Mirrors (right one was busted when I knocked over the bike, but is JB welded together, works fine, just can't fold in).
Fairing
Inner Fairings
Headlight assembly with bulbs...
I ordered mine here last night. $60 shipped, pricey, but less of a hassle trying to find vendors and piece it together IMHO. Bottom of the page.
Burlington Yamaha | FZ1N Headlight Kit
It comes with a headlight stay that bolts to the 2 bolt holes that are left when you remove your horn, and top you can zip tie to the ignition lock (or bolt with a U bolt or something, most likely what I'll do. I like things bolted.)
Here's the installation photo that he sent me.
I ordered one from dev_usc here on the forum. He was rad and hooked me up with a custom setup from the FZ16 in India.
Here is a pic of the headlight on another FZ6.
I most likely won't use the little windscreen to hide the gauges, but instead buy the back cover for the gauges.
Ordered the new Nekkid headlight today. So I decided to take off that fugly fairing in anticipation (fact being that I can't ride till I get a new exhaust gasket anyways).
Now to adjust the clipons (cbr1100xx) that have been on the bike in one position only due to the fairing. Might actually...
